In the river, there lies a stone beast, a creature of stone, found in the river. One day, a fisherman, while fishing in the river, stumbled upon a stone beast as large as a bowl, floating on the water's surface. Amazed, the fisherman attempted to catch it with a net, but the stone beast remained motionless. With increased effort, the beast began to sink, dragging the fisherman down with it. Upon reaching the riverbed, the stone beast still showed no sign of movement. Terrified, the fisherman wanted to retreat, yet feared the beast would follow. Thus, he clutched the stone beast and returned home.
Upon returning, the fisherman placed the stone beast in his courtyard. Days passed, and the stone beast grew larger, resembling a small mountain. Overwhelmed with fear, the fisherman buried the stone beast underground. However, it emerged once more, and continued to grow. With no choice, the fisherman had to move the stone beast to the mountains and bury it in a deep valley.
Time passed swiftly, and the stone beast continued to grow in the valley, eventually forming a massive stone mountain. Within the mountain, there was a spring, where fish swam among the stones, creating a dreamlike scene. Upon hearing this, the fisherman couldn't help but feel melancholic and composed a poem:
The stone beast in the river, born of stone, floats and sinks in the water. The fisherman tries to catch it, but it escapes, sinking and rising again. In the courtyard, it grows larger, yet in the deep valley, it remains undiminished. Time flies, turning it into a stone mountain, where fish in the spring swim like a dream.
